Important PFML updates and reminders

CO PFML – New Neonatal Care leave. Effective January 1, 2026, Colorado expanded their PFML program to allow up to an additional 12 weeks of Neonatal Care Leave.

HI TDI- 2025 Annual Reporting. HI TDI-21 2025 annual report is due to the state by March 1, 2026. Look out for more information requesting your assistance to fulfill their annual reporting requirement.

MA PFML- Private Plan Renewal Reminder. Employers must renew Sun Life private plan exemptions through MassTaxConnect every 12 months. Contact your Sun Life representative for confirmation forms before your renewal date.

ME PFML- New PFML Program launching. Sun Life continues to provide quotes and prepare clients for the new 2026 PFML program starting in Maine effective May 1, 2026. Contact your Sun Life representative for quote information.

OR PFML- 2025 Equivalent Plan Renewals. Oregon requires Employers with approved OR PFML Equivalent plans to renew annually for the first 3 years, then only when plan changes occur. Submit your renewal application and fee at least 30 days prior to the effective date anniversary. Request the OR PFML Exemption Renewal Quick Guides for forms and helpful instructions.

Support for those with diabetes

Nearly 1 in 6 American adults have diabetes. Those with diabetes are more likely to experience costly and longer hospital stays. Hospital Indemnity insurance can provide cash benefits for hospital stays. Supplemental Health now available for more employers in Florida

We're excited to offer Hospital Indemnity, Accident, and Critical Illness insurance to groups in Florida with as few as three employees. These plans provide cash benefits to employees for covered conditions. Benefit payments can be used for any reason—from paying bills to buying groceries and gas. All plans can be enhanced with a Wellness Benefit for even more cash back to employees.

Supplemental Health benefit taxation

A Form 1099-MISC will be issued to members for any taxable benefits from 2025 benefit payments. Forms were mailed by January 31, 2026 to the home address on file. See the SH Taxation FAQ for additional details.
