Have you seen our new mobile app for dental benefits? We have made it even easier for members to access their dental plan information on the go. They can see their plan overview, view claims and access their dental ID card right in the app.

More claims integration to benefit members
Sun Life has launched many claims integrations over the past few years and we just added another one this year. Members who have both dental + accident, hospital indemnity or critical illness with wellness will automatically have their wellness benefit paid when they get a dental cleaning.
|
|
|
Important PFML updates and reminders
If you have employees in these PFML statutory states, please be aware of the following changes effective 1/1/25:
-
The Social Security wage cap was released for 2025 and is increasing from $168,600 to $176,100. This wage cap is used to calculate the PFML contributions for Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington.

CO PFML: Maximum weekly benefit increases from $1,100.00 to $1,324.21.
-
CT PFML: Maximum weekly benefit increases from $941.40 to $981.00.
-
MA PFML: Maximum weekly benefit increases from $1,149.90 to $1,170.64.
-
WA PFML: Maximum weekly benefit increases from $1,456.00 to $1,542.00. The premium rate will increase from 0.74% to 0.92% and the maximum employee contributions increases from 71.43% to 71.52%. The maximum employer contributions decrease from 28.57% to 28.48%.

NY PFL: Maximum weekly benefit increases from $1,151.16 to $1,177.32. The state rate increases from 0.373% to 0.388% of covered wages.

NJ TDB: Maximum weekly benefit increases from $1,055 to $1,081. The employee contribution percent has also changed, from 0.0% to 0.23%. The employee taxable wage base will increase from $161,400 to $165,400 and the employer taxable wage base from $42,300 to $43,300.

Sun Life continues to closely monitor and prepare for the new 2026 PFML programs starting in Maine, Delaware, Maryland, and Minnesota.
