New virtual enrollment solution: Text communications!

Research shows that SMS (text) open rates are as high as 98%, compared to just 20% of all emails. And, on average, it takes 90 seconds for someone to respond to a text and 90 minutes to respond to an email.1

Direct-to-employee communications are here. With text communications, we can remind employees about their enrollment dates and plan details. It also:

  • Reduces additional communication burden for HR departments
  • Reaches employees wherever they are

  • Great news—Sun Life can host the required employee vote for Clients! We’ve had several Clients take us up on this service. Read how we make holding the vote easier for them.
MA PFML — RENEWAL REMINDER
  • MA PFML private plan exemption renewal reminder. We remind Clients with MA PFML administered by Sun Life that they need to renew their private plan exemption with the state annually. Clients will be required to re-apply for an exemption through your MassTax Connect account. The state website gives information on how to do this. There are separate requirements for insured and self-insured plans. Important: Clients will need an updated Confirmation of Coverage to re-apply. Here is the updated Confirmation of Coverage for Sun Life Clients. They will need to fill out areas as applicable. They may re-apply during the quarter prior to the expiration of their exemption (i.e., If their exemption expiration date is September 30, they can begin the renewal process starting July 1). There are penalties assessed by the state for employers who fail to renew their private plan. If a Client requires any documents from us, they can call their Sun Life Client Relationship Executive or Client Services.
